Why? If
you do not have your playing partner identified or need one, a placeholder can
be used to reserve the position next to yours on the tee slot.
Three Types of Placeholders:
·
HOLD You
plan on finding your own partner. There are 12 HOLD placeholder in the
membership roster. Select one of the HOLD placeholders from the
members pulldown during signup and add them to your twosome. Once you know who
your partner is email the Tournament Manager with that information and we will
make the change.
·
NEED You
will not find a partner and need one. There are 12 NEED placeholders in the
membership roster. Select one of the NEED placeholders form the members
pulldown during signup. We will adjust the tee sheet and remove the NEED
holder, so the position is vacant. This will allow a member to select that
empty spot when they come to register
·
GUEST You plan on bringing a
guest and guests are allowed for the tournament in question. There are 12 GUEST
placeholders in the membership roster. Use this to reserve your playing partner
position and then email the tournament manager with the name, GHIN, email
address, mailing address, and phone number.
As a rule, any position that is not
filled with the name of a member/guest or one of the placeholders is fair game
for anyone to take if they need a tee time for themselves.
You do not, and cannot, remove the HOLD, NEED, or GUEST placeholder
if you assign one. You must notify the Tournament Manager of your needs.
If you do not use a placeholder and
either wait longer than 15 minutes or exit the tee sheet that position will be
open to anyone that wants a tee time. Use a placeholder. Do not confuse the
Golf Genius TBD as a placeholder. It is temporary and will be automatically
cancelled after 15 minutes or once you click Done at the bottom of the tee
sheet.
